Everything Switchback makes for you stays in a switchback/ folder inside your own working directory: the specs it builds from, the HTML and PDF it prints, the photos you send back, and the read-backs written from them. None of it is uploaded anywhere by the CLI or the skill.

Your saved desk (paper size, printer, pens) lives in your own user config directory —switchback profile --path shows exactly where — and stays there until you change it yourself.

To read your handwriting back from a photo, the agent sends that photo to the AI model it runs on, the same way it would handle any image you shared with it directly in conversation. That transfer is between you and your agent's model provider; Switchback itself has no server in the loop and never sees the photo.

The site you are reading now, and the CLI behind it, collect nothing: no analytics, no cookies, no trackers, and no third-party scripts of any kind in the production build. There is no account to create and no mailing list to join.
